My Approach
From the outside, it looks like you have it all together. On the inside, you’re stressed, overwhelmed, and stuck on “what do I do now?” If your relationship is cracking after decades together, or life just handed you something you didn’t see coming, that’s what I’m here for.
Healing means finding a way forward when the old ways stop working. Simple as that.
I’ve spent 40 years in medical hospitals, military agencies, and inpatient psychiatric care, and I don’t waste your time. I’ll tell you exactly what I see. You still run the show — I just won’t dance around the truth to make you feel better in the moment.
I’m still doing this work by choice, not habit. I know I’m good at it, and I know I can make a difference. That’s the only reason I’m still in the room.
My Clinical Specialized Tools
I use a mix of the most effective, evidence-based tools to help you get unstuck:
- Advanced EMDR:  I’ve been EMDR certified for over 20 years, and I’ve trained other clinicians in the model — this isn’t something I picked up recently. EMDR is how we clear out the old stuff that’s still running the show: a betrayal, a wound you’ve carried for years, whatever keeps you reactive today. It takes the sting out so it stops running your life.
- Grey Divorce & Mid-Life Transitions: Ending a marriage after 20 or 40 years is different than a divorce in your 20s. I specialize in helping women and men navigate the unique identity shifts, social changes, and grief that come with starting over later in life.
- Caregiver Support & Chronic Illness: Taking care of a spouse or an aging parent is exhausting, and nobody tells you that. I give you a place to say the hard parts out loud — the resentment, the burnout, the grief you’re not supposed to feel while the person’s still alive.
- Military Families & PTSD: I’ve written children’s self-help books on PTSD and deployment. This community matters to me, and I understand how service-related stress doesn’t stay with one person — it moves through the whole family.
Who I Work With
- People in mid-to-late life dealing with an empty nest, retirement, or “now what?”
- Caregivers who’ve spent years running themselves into the ground for everyone else
- High-pressure professionals whose public life doesn’t match what’s actually going on with stress or addiction
- Couples and families who’ve stopped talking to each other and want to fix that
Why Work With Me
You’ve spent your life taking care of everyone else. I get that — not just from the clinical side, but because I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother myself. I bring 40 years of training and a real understanding of what that weight feels like.
You don’t have to keep doing this alone. Reach out, and let’s get started.
