Needing extra support? Wondering why you react the way you do to certain people or events? Feeling “stuck” in patterns and cycles that are working against you? I would be honored to come sit alongside you and help. I can offer all the tools and knowledge I’ve learned through my own journey – as therapist, as a wife, as a mother, a daughter, and human being.
Tackling things alone is harder and often less effective. It’s okay to need a little help. Letting others in, when we are vulnerable, actually increases our resilience and independence. I approach therapy with empathy, compassion, humor, creativity, and humility. I am highly trained in the field of mental health and also recognize there is always more to learn, particularly when it comes to your story and culture. Working with me, you can expect a warm, engaging, and non-judgmental professional. You will discover new ways to find relief from stress, anxiety/depression, self- harm, and other concerns keeping you from living fully and authentically.
Love researchers have found that couples with the highest rates of distress and divorce struggle with repair. Unable to quickly and easily get back on track with one another, couples get caught in a painful cycle of disconnection that can actually take over the relationship. I can help with the repair and rediscover the “spark” that got lost among the demand of everyday life. I can show you how to build authentic connection, strengthen trust, and improve healthy and effective communication. Maybe you are not in a relationship and certain life experiences have just overwhelmed your system and left you spinning. I can help make sense of things.
As research suggests time and again, the relationship with your therapist is a strong indicator of success in therapy. I work hard to help my clients build trust and safety in the therapy process. I tailor sessions to you – what you need and at your pace. That tool box I mentioned? It has lots of proven, evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal Family Systems IFS) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also incorporate the use of art, movement, music, yoga, and mindfulness, when appropriate. I have experience providing affirmative counseling to LGBTQIA+ individuals.
When I am not providing therapy, I love being out in nature playing with my children, running, practicing yoga, reading, or planning our family’s next adventure. I’m also likely folding endless piles of laundry or picking up toys (especially Lego®) scattered all over the house!
Finding the right therapist can be a difficult decision to make, I encourage you to take this next step in personal growth and healing if it feels right to you.
