It is an honor that you are considering choosing me on your journey to peace and well-being!
My hope is to form an authentic and deep connection with you that is rooted in trust, empathy, and acceptance. I use an integrated treatment approach that enables me to better understand you as a whole person, including your unique strengths and cultural influences, and correspondingly tailor treatment to meet your specific needs.
I have worked for the past decade with clients whose needs range from addiction, depression/anxiety, mood disorders, and personality concerns, to healing old wounds that impact current relationships. In collaboration, I can help you
- understand and work through painful feelings,
- manage stress,
- relieve distressing symptoms,
- improve troubled relationships,
- gain greater self-awareness and acceptance,
- create and find meaning,
- and ultimately, live more vitally.
I am a non-judgmental, passionate listener who is trauma-informed and believes that active, engaged therapy allows a space for exploring and discovering new ideas and ways of being. Empathy, humor, and pulling from my own life experiences are at the forefront of our entire time together. Nothing shocks me and I’m open to feedback as we build our relationship together. This is NOT the type of therapy where someone just silently listens and nods – I will jump right in the deep end with you!
The kid of an elementary school teacher and pastor, my lifelong endeavors in helping and teaching others while seeking spiritual fulfillment are no surprise. I am a strong believer that an unexamined life is a life where opportunity is missed. When I am not working, I am at home in Virginia Beach watching true crime documentaries, playing with my Corgi, Teddy, or spending time with my husband while watching our favorite shows. I love exercising, cultivating spirituality and mindfulness-based practices, and good conversations over coffee about better ways to live and seek meaning. I probably should add I can get lost in TikTok and Instagram for hours.
Reaching out for help is an important first step. Thank you for considering me.

Insurance
While insurance is not accepted at this time, Dr. Mason is happy to provide you with receipts and documentation to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please review your coverage carefully, and consult with your insurance provider. Consider the following questions when determining if your insurance will reimburse you for therapy:
- What are my mental health insurance benefits?
- Has my deductible been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Does my insurance require pre-approval from my primary care physician?
