It is an honor that you are choosing me as part of your journey to peace and well-being! I’m sure you are wondering to yourself: Who are you and can you help me? Absolutely, I can! I have worked for the past 5+ years with a variety of clients with different needs- ranging from addictions, depression/anxiety, mood disorders and personality concerns, to healing old attachment wounds that impact current relationships. I obtained my PhD from William & Mary in Counselor Education & Supervision in May 2021. Before and during grad school, I’ve had the honor of working in-home with clients, at school settings, in outpatient centers, and private practice settings. I will meet you where you are at- whether it’s overwhelmed, isolated, or heartbroken. Together, we will dive into sessions at a pace that you set and explore what your inner self really needs- to be heard, validated, and have a roadmap out of the pain and suffering.

Outside of work, I am very interested in true crime documentaries, playing with my Corgi Teddy, and spending time with my husband while watching our favorite shows and exploring all Virginia has to offer!

I love exercising, cultivating spirituality and mindfulness-based practices, and good conversations over coffee about betters ways to live and seek meaning. I am broadly interested in trying ways to make wellness-based activities a daily part of my life.

I am a Richmond, Virginia, native and through my various years of education, have lived all over Virginia. As the kid of an elementary school teacher and pastor, my lifelong endeavors in helping and teaching others while seeking spiritual fulfillment are no surprise. I am a strong believer that an unexamined life is a life where opportunity is missed. About a decade ago, I saw myself going through medical school with the hopes of becoming a psychiatrist. I am so glad I changed paths and pivoted to get my master’s in clinical mental health/addictions counseling. I could think of no better fit.

No matter your background, my main task is to help you feel as comfortable and empowered as possible to achieve your goals during therapy. I will listen to you, help identify your inherent strengths, assist you in challenging and restructuring your thoughts, and help you explore new behaviors that let you feel better. Together, we will find your path to a new way of thriving, not just surviving.

I am non-judgemental, a passionate listener, trauma-informed, and believe in active, engaged therapy that still allows a space for exploring and discovering new ideas and ways of being. Empathy, humor, and pulling from my own life experiences are at the forefront of our entire time together. Nothing shocks me and I’m open to feedback as we build our relationship together. This is NOT the type of therapy where someone just silently listens and nods.

I am looking forward to hearing from you – you’ve taken a very important step that will change the course of your life for the better.

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Does my insurance require pre-approval from my primary care physician?
