Is there an area of your life where you are struggling to find your footing? Whether it’s I your relationships with others or in your relationship with yourself, I can help.
I have a passion for working with individuals and couples who are facing challenges in their interpersonal relationships. These challenges might include feeling stuck in patterns of destructive verbal conflict, recovering from instances of betrayal, experiencing a sense of disconnection that has crept up overtime. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which includes specialized trainings in working with couples experiencing high levels of verbal conflict. I utilize EFT in
conjunction with other modalities that I have also received training in, such as Polyvagal Theory and The Gottman Method, to help my clients build insight into their own inner worlds, to engage in healthier patterns of communication, and to cultivate meaningful connections with those that they love.
My approach to the therapeutic process is twofold – to come alongside my clients as they navigate challenging circumstances and to help them access and resource their inner strengths. I strive to cultivate a collaborative relationship with my clients by working together to identify the changes they want to make within themselves, their relationships, and their world. I take a non-judgmental and empathetic stance with my clients while also offering them compassionate reflections of the barriers that may hindering the growth they are seeking.
I know firsthand that the process of choosing a therapist can be overwhelming. Finding a therapist who is equipped to help you address your specific concerns is one thing while finding one with whom you also “click” is something else entirely. If what I have shared regarding my areas of specialty and my approach to therapy is resonating with you but you are wondering about who I am on a more personal level, here is some information that can paint a bit of a picture:
I love to create pottery and spend time each week sitting at a pottery wheel, though some days the basics still elude me. I am a houseplant enthusiast which is made clear by the amount of plants in my home as well as in my office spaces at our East Beach and Waterside locations. I consider myself to be a very amateur surfer and enjoy paddling out from time to time with my husband who happens to be a very good surfer. And lastly, I truly do love what I do for work.
